Tongues

You Need the Power of the Holy Spirit

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth…Acts 1:8

If you do not have the Holy Spirit come upon you, you do not have the power and you need the power to be an effective witness of the gospel to others.

Speaking in tongues is the prayer language of your recreated spirit. It is essentially a hotline to the witness heavenly Father. Through it, you can fully express yourself to the Father which can make your personal prayer and worship time more intimate, special and rewarding.

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place, and suddenly, there came a sound from heaven, as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Act 2:2-4. The word tongues in Greek is the word [glasse], which means languages. So they were speaking in languages other than their native tongues.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. The Godhead functions like a corporation. God the Father is President, Jesus is the Vice-President and the Holy Spirit is the field representative. While Jesus and the Father stay and issue orders from corporate headquarters in heaven, the Holy Spirit goes into the earth-realm to carry out the orders. He leads and guides you into all truth.

There are fourteen attributes that we call the personality of the Holy Spirit. He strives, teaches, testifies, reproves, guides, comforts, helps, searches, reveals, sanctifies, and commands. He alsohas a mind, a will, and emotions just like you.

The Holy Spirit comes from the Father. He has been here for over 2000 years and is here now ready to empower us, guide us, teach us and help us. He is ready to comfort us and stand by us in our times of need. All we have to do is allow Him to do so by submission and obedience.

The Holy Spirit is given freely by grace to every Believer who desires Him. It is a gift intended to take you into a deeper Christian experience and help you achieve victory in your daily faith walk with God. Remember…We walk by faith and not by sight!
